Which protection rating do you need?

Pixel strips come with WS2812B for 5 V and with WS2811 for 12 V, as 4 or 5 m reels, with 30 or 60 LEDs per metre and with a black or white PCB. The protection rating decides where they can be used.

Dry indoor areas

IP30

Open PCB without coating, for profiles, furniture and covers in dry rooms.

Dust-tight · water jets

IP65

Protected against dust and water jets, for areas with moisture.

Dust-tight · temporary immersion

IP67

Protected against dust and temporary immersion, for outdoor use.

30 or 60 LEDs per metre?

What matters to me … … then choose

less current per metre and longer runs per injection point 30 LEDs/m
longer runs with the same power injection WS2811 with 12 V
