PixLite Mk3 compared

Which PixLite suits my project?

For up to 4 pixel outputs, the A4-S Mk3 or E4-S Mk3 is enough; for 16 outputs, choose the E16-S Mk3. If the pixels are far away from the controller, choose a long-range transmitter (T8-S Mk3 or T16X-S Mk3) with receivers that can each be placed up to 300 m from the transmitter.

Note: Connection to 230 V must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

All Mk3 models at a glance

Model Pixel outputs Total pixels (RGB) Universes Pixel power Network Mounting
A4-S Mk3 4 up to 4,080 24 via the outputs, 7 A per output 2 × Gigabit wall or DIN rail
E4-S Mk3 4 up to 4,080 24 injected separately 1 × 10/100 Mbit/s surface or DIN rail
E16-S Mk3 16 up to 16,320 96 injected separately 1 × 10/100 Mbit/s surface or DIN rail
T8-S Mk3 16 via 8 long-range ports up to 16,320 96 via the receivers 2 × Gigabit surface or 19″ rack
T16X-S Mk3 16 via 16 long-range ports up to 16,320 96 via the receivers 2 × Gigabit surface or 19″ rack

Up to 1,020 RGB or 768 RGBW pixels per output.

Long range: transmitter and receivers A long-range transmitter (T8-S Mk3 or T16X-S Mk3) sends the data via RJ45 to receivers that can each be up to 300 m away. The pixels connect to the receiver, which also powers them.Art-Net / sACNTransmitter T8-S / T16X-SReceiverReceiverReceiverup to 300 mThe receiver powers the pixels

A series or E series?

The A4-S Mk3 powers the pixels directly through its outputs (7 A per output, 28 A in total) and has two Gigabit ports and a housing made of aluminium and ABS. With the E4-S Mk3 and E16-S Mk3, the power supply feeds the pixels separately; the controller itself needs 5–24 V DC. They have one 10/100 port and an ABS housing and are designed for indoor use as standard. Both E models are also available with conformal coating (protective coating on the circuit board).

Long range: transmitters and receivers

The T8-S Mk3 and T16X-S Mk3 transmitters run on 100–240 V AC. They send the data via RJ45 ports to receivers that can each be up to 300 m away. The pixels connect to the receiver, which also powers them.

  • R4D-S: 4 outputs, up to 510 RGB pixels each, data-only pixels (extended mode), works with the T8-S Mk3
  • R2F-S: 2 outputs, up to 1,020 RGB pixels each, works with the T8-S Mk3 and T16X-S Mk3
  • R1F-S: 1 output, up to 1,020 RGB pixels, 5–48 V DC, works with the T16X-S Mk3

What all Mk3 controllers can do

  • Art-Net and sACN (E1.31) over Ethernet
  • RS485 port for DMX in/out
  • Gamma correction and dithering
  • Shows without a computer from microSD with SHOWTime™, up to 25 triggers (card not included)

Frequently asked questions

How many pixels does a PixLite control?

Up to 1,020 RGB or 768 RGBW pixels per output. That gives the A4-S and E4-S up to 4,080 RGB pixels, and the E16-S, T8-S and T16X-S up to 16,320.

Which pixels can I connect?

You will find an overview of suitable pixel types under Compatible pixels for PixLite Mk3.

Do I need a computer for the show?

No. With SHOWTime™, the controller plays shows from a microSD card.

How do I mount the controller?

Depending on the model, on the wall, on a DIN rail or in a 19″ rack. You will find suitable kits under PixLite mounts.
