Two DMX universes from the network, with RDM
The MADRIX® STELLA converts Art-Net or sACN directly into DMX512 and outputs two universes, optionally also as input. It works with MADRIX 5 as well as a regular node with other consoles, controllers and software.

What the STELLA is made for
- Connecting classic DMX fixtures, dimmers or pixel controllers with DMX input to an Art-Net or sACN network
- Feeding DMX signals from a console into the network, the ports can also be used as inputs
- Setting up and monitoring fixtures via RDM, up to 170 RDM devices per port
- Installation in a control cabinet on a 35 mm DIN rail or wall mounting
Not suitable for
- More than two universes on one device: then the STELLA 8 with eight ports
- Pixel LEDs directly without a DMX controller: that is what the NEBULA with SPI ports is for
- Outdoor mounting: the housing is rated IP20
Good to know: according to the manufacturer, RDM devices on the STELLA are automatically licensed for MADRIX RADAR; you do not need a RADAR fusion licence for these devices.

Connection
Up and running in three steps
- Power. 5–24 V DC to the screw terminal or 5 V via USB.
- Connect DMX. The DMX cables to the two 3-pin terminals of the ports.
- Set up. On the web configuration page set direction and universe for each port, then send Art-Net or sACN.
The STELLA outputs DMX, not SPI pixel data. Pixel LEDs need a DMX-capable pixel controller behind it.

Frequently asked questions
Does the STELLA also work without MADRIX?
Yes. According to the manufacturer it complies with the official protocol specifications and can be used as a regular node with other consoles, controllers and software.
Do I need a RADAR licence for RDM devices on the STELLA?
No. According to the manufacturer, RDM devices on the STELLA are automatically licensed for MADRIX RADAR. You only need a fusion licence for devices on nodes from other manufacturers.
How does the STELLA differ from the STELLA 8?
The STELLA has two DMX ports, the STELLA 8 has eight, plus faster network ports, USB‑C and power via PoE.
